1 Corinthians 15:1 – 8
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you; unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Jesus Christ died for our
sins.
He was buried.
He was raised from the
dead.
He was seen.
Freedom from the power of sin
1 John 1:7 – 9
We have forgiveness of sin by His blood.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
We have deliverance from the power of sin by the death of His body.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 3:3,5, 14 – 21 The Gospel of the Kingdom of God
3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless
one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
5
Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of
water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
14
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of Man be lifted up,
15
"that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but
that the world through Him might be saved.
18
"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
19
"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20
"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the
light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21
"But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly
seen, that they have been done in God."
God does not want us to perish in eternity. He also does not want us to perish moment-by-moment, day-by-day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or 24/7.
God wants us to have everlasting life in
eternity and He also wants us to experience His everlasting life moment-by-moment,
day-by-day or 24/7.
| I simply argue that the cross be raised again, at the center of the market place as well as on the steeple of the church. I am recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves, on the town garbage heap, on crossroads so cosmopolitan that they had to write His title in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek – at the kind of place where cynics talk smut, thieves curse, and soldiers gamble, because that is where He died, and that is what He died about, and that is what Christians should be about. – Anonymous |
We are to: 1) Preach the Gospel of
the Kingdom of God,
2) Heal the sick, and 3) declare the presence
of the Kingdom of God.
