Wherever we go it seems that we are sharing Jesus with hurting and broken people, some of whom are homeless. Here we are downtown in front of the old Pioneer Federal Courthouse at SW 5th & Morrison where we interact with street youth who often refer to themselves as “gutter punks” and may see themselves as a “street family.” During the summer there is an influx among their number. In these photos one is receiving prayer while others sit on the sidewalk at the traffic light pole. They wear a lot of dirty black clothing with some very negative sayings such as “SubHuMans” or “Illegally Insane” or “DEATH.” This young girl’s shirt bears the words, “I WISH YOU WERE ABORTED.”
