Summer 2006
Dearly Beloved of Our Lord:
We are very thankful to our Lord for the privilege of meeting many new brothers and sisters and sharing our lives with them. A dear sister has been joining us throughout the summer and she and Karen have ministered to many hurting women who stop for prayer and counsel. One day in August a sister from Birmingham, England called us on the phone and asked about joining us on the streets. She had met a couple from Portland while they were all in India. This couple told her about us and she has been with us this past month of August in “the Living Room” which is Pioneer Courthouse Square. She is in England as we write this letter but she plans to return while her husband works on a special project here in Portland.
Ron’s Testimony ~ Our Lord joins us for “church in the Square” by the MAX stop at SW Sixth & Morrison. Many days Karen spends hours ministering by herself but not always. When other sisters join Karen they are more than ready to minister to whomsoever He should bring by. One moment they are praying with a man struggling with homosexuality who had just been mugged and robbed and had bones broken. Next they are ministering to an African American woman who says she had a stroke and is disoriented on the streets of downtown Portland. Then they are reaching out to someone with mental illness who can barely be understood. Next they are talking deeply with a young man who has been filled with philosophy and does not even believe Jesus ever lived. I am amazed at who the Holy Spirit brings along and how they respond to Karen and those who join her.
Here are a couple of pictures where Karen and Jean are ministering to another woman with several needs in her life, including a need for physical healing. As you can see by the photos they are at the MAX stop along SW Morrison Street. Some people walk by and are touched in their hearts when they see the women ministering healing along with laying on of hands, hugs, and smiles.

Karen's Testimony ~ During this summer the Lord has brought along women to work with me in Portland’s Living Room – Pioneer Courthouse Square. Two women have been with me who have been especially helpful – Dee and Jean. They have been able to join me two or three times a week and sometimes all three of us are ministering together.
Dee has been involved in missionary work in various places, including Jamaica and Viet Nam where she worked with an orphanage. She has been coming out a couple times a week throughout the summer and helps me to minister to women. In August Jean called us on the phone as we were preparing to go downtown. She had heard about us from some brethren she met in India. They live in Portland and told her about us. Jean is from Birmingham, England and said she was going to be in town for a few weeks. She met us on the streets and joined me in praying for hurting women.
One day Dee and I prayed for a woman who was having trouble with her feet and her knees. Dee mailed her some medicine for her feet. She came back later looking for Dee who was not there that day. Jean and I prayed for her concerning her feet and knees and also for her prodigal son who was in jail. She was filled with the peace of God and thanked us.
Having three anointed women praying releases a stronger presence of the Lord. When all three of us were at Pioneer Square, we had a line of people waiting for prayer. We prayed for a man whose hands were all bandaged up. He had been beaten up in downtown Portland and robbed. He was emotionally distraught. After we prayed for him, he felt better and thanked us. We referred him to the Healing Rooms for more prayer and he said he would go for prayer because he had many emotional wounds that need healing.
Jean and Dee met a woman who had a hard time communicating and walked her to the Square for ministry. She had had a stroke and was on medication. She needed to go home and she said she could get home on the Number 14 bus. Before we prayed Robin, a woman passing by who had gone for prayer at the Healing Rooms and knew me, joined us. We all prayed for the woman recovering from a stroke and because of her condition we felt the woman should not be here out on the streets by herself. Robin just happened to be taking the Number 14 bus home and said she would make sure she got home. The woman did not confess Jesus and this divine appointment reminded me of the story of the Good Samaritan. After her another woman came by for prayer. Jean has a prophetic gift and it was a blessing to see the Holy Spirit touch women deeply when she prophesied over them. Afterwards we had some Holy Ghost stories to tell each other concerning what the Lord had shown us.
It is such a great joy to carry His fragrance wherever we are along with the brothers and sisters He brings along to work with us. His will is that we all bear much fruit and release the fragrance of our Lord Jesus wherever we go. As you expect Him to use you He will show you where and when. He has given everyone of us special assignments. This is why He has left us upon the Earth – to preach the gospel and heal. We send you this letter with our prayers and with a special thanksgiving for you. You go with us through your prayers, your encouragement, and your support. Thank you for your love and friendship. May you richly know His grace, peace, and mercylove.
