Dearly Beloved of Our Lord:

Springtime greetings to you in the matchless and mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord King, and Savior, who is holy, righteous and true.  May you be filled with His mercy, grace, and peace which come from our Father in heaven who desires to give us His Kingdom.  This month we want to share some observations concerning the people and cultures we encounter as we minister His Kingdom.

Karen’s Testimony ~ In the last month the Lord has been talking to me about the unbeliever seeking wisdom and he has been putting it on my heart to give out the book of Proverbs to the unbeliever.  I have been offering it to Muslims and they take it.  This impression is based on the following scripture from the book of First Corinthians.

20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom, did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Cor. 1:20-24)

On Thursday, Ron and I went to Portland State.  The Lord blessed us with sunshine.  I brought along two books of Proverbs and my tracts. Ron was preaching the cross to students passing by.   A very intense young man came towards me.  I asked him if he would like a book of wisdom.  He took it and went down the street intensely reading it.  The Holy Spirit told me to offer a book of wisdom to some Muslims that were at a table renting or selling hookahs so that students could smoke them in the Park blocks.  Seeing a black-veiled Muslim woman sitting and smoking a hookah outside PSU Smith Student Center is indeed a very interesting sight.  One Muslim woman took Proverbs and started reading it surrounded by hookahs and smoke.  That also was a very interesting sight.  A group of high school students came by who were visiting Portland State campus.  As they came by they eagerly took almost all the tracts I had brought to the campus.  Thankfully, there seems to be a growing spiritual hunger among the young.

We pray that this short letter is one of encouragement as you desire to be fruitful where He has given you to walk and live.  We pray for you that you would abound in every good work and grow in your knowledge of Him.  Thank you for your prayers for us, your support, and encouragement.  We greatly appreciate every note and every gift we receive.  Please continue to pray for us to have good health and an abundance of strength for all that our Lord Jesus is giving us to do this spring and summer.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ~Romans 15:13
