January 2007
Dearly
Beloved of Our Lord:
We
send you greetings for the New Year 2007. May
this be a most fruitful, healthy, prosperous, peaceful, and joyful New Year for
you and your family. We believe
that this year will be especially fruitful in answered prayer.
The Holy Spirit seems to be emphasizing humility for this coming year.
Here are some scriptures that come to mind.
God resists the proud
but gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5)
He has shown you, O
man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly,
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)
As
we look ahead to this year before us we are continuing in a time of quietness as
we wait upon Him and seek His face. We
are also in a time of continuing prayer for healing for Ron concerning his
ability to hear and for a good strong energy level to walk in His grace.
Karen’s
Testimony
God
is after your heart. Does your
heart belong to the Lord? When
things are going well and you have joy in your heart, you feel so on-fire and
full of love for the Lord. What
about when things are not going well? When
you are oppressed of the enemy and he keeps telling you it is not working.
When you are going through the desert, or you have gone through a severe
pruning, then do you love the Lord? Are
you able to rest in Him? Are you
able to place your hope in Him? Do
you believe Him with all of your heart, mind, and soul?
Here are some scriptures that have been especially comforting.
In
this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to
suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have
come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though
refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and
honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you
have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you
believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for
you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1
Peter 1:6-9)
Consider
it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because
you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance
must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking
anything. (James 1:2-4)
Thank
You For Your Love
We greatly appreciate your prayers, friendship, and encouragement. Thank you for your notes, emails, cards, gifts, phone calls, visits, and your prayers for us.
