Dearly Beloved of Our Lord:
May our Lord’s wonderful grace and peace be increased and abounding in your heart. We have been experiencing a strong call to intercession throughout this spring and summer. It seems as if there is a harvest ripening in the midst of a nation gripped by confusion and selfishness. “It’s all about ME,” seems to be some kind of theme song for these times. This makes it both a challenging time and an exciting time to be bringing the gospel of the Kingdom to men and women, especially the youth.
Life outside the Garden independent of our Creator is very dark, dangerous, and difficult. The end result is awful and is described at the end of the ninth chapter of the Revelation.
20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
We personally know of many men and women who are no longer on the earth as they gave themselves to the self-centeredness of sexual immorality, stealing, and drugs. Sorcery can mean medications, witchcrafts, magic, etc. coming from the root word “pharmakeia.” Fornication includes all kinds of sexual immorality coming from the root word “pornos.”
We all live and work in various kinds of environments. Currently it is popular to be “environmentally aware” or to try and be “green.” But this just refers to the natural environment which actually belongs to our Creator who is the Lord God Almighty. We are aware of other environments as well. There is our work environment as well as the human cultural environment where we must live outside the Garden of Eden where we live under a curse. Most try to live independently of God in an environment increasingly being filled with murders, sexual immorality, sorceries, and thefts. Those of us who have repented and returned to relationship with Jesus as our Lord have been given assignments where we remain in this human environment of increasing murders, thefts, sexual immorality, and sorceries. The good news is to be spread in an environment of bad news. And He said that He would always be with us. He sends us to preach His Kingdom and to bring healing and deliverance.
We have seen many friends who have been victims of life outside the Garden because they refused His call to fully repent. We have even known children who grew up with our own children become victims and die from the effects of this environment. Most have died from drugs, which are usually mixed with other things such as sexual immorality, theft, or even murder. Wherever any of us go we are “on assignment” in this “human cultural environment” of increasing murders, sexual immorality, sorceries, and thefts. And He has sent us to those whose hearts He has prepared. He said, “Go!”
These are the times of great challenge along with great expectations. Our hearts continue to believe for awakening throughout the Pacific Northwest and for the city of Portland. We are thankful for your support and your prayers. You continue to be an encouragement to us as you believe with us for awakening and harvest. We thank God for you. Mercy, grace, and peace be yours through Jesus Christ.
